The Programme has been co-financing projects since 1992, the current funding period (LIFE +) started in 2007 and lasts until 2013.
There are four types of LIFE+ projects:
- LIFE Nature
- LIFE Biodiversity
- LIFE Environment Policy and Governance
- LIFE Information and Communication
The AMPHIKULT project is a LIFE Nature project. These projects serve the implementation of the EU's Birds and Habitats Directives for the creation of the Natura 2000 network, and contribute to the EU's goal of halting the loss of threatened species and biodiversity.
